A huge smile.
A cheerful presence.
And a laugh that was truly contagious.
Whether you knew him for years or just a semester, Michael was warm, he made you feel at home and was always welcoming to strangers.
To his family, he always brightened up their day. To his friends, no one could make you laugh harder.
But ask anyone who knew him - and Michael was always there when you needed him. Whether it was to lend you a hand or simply to listen.
And nowhere was this clearer than when Michael was working with his students.
His passion for teaching inspired so many. And that’s why we started the annual Michael’s Run. It’s a perfect way to remember Michael - by doing something that he loved to do. (In fact, as an athlete himself, he often ran the same route.)
Michael's Run is also a charitable event that raises thousands of dollars each year. The fund benefits local students to help them reach their dreams of going to college.
This year's scholarship of $5,000 was awarded to Paul Pacheco, a graduating senior from Lowell High School.
Whether you walk or run, come join us as we remember Michael and support our community. (Not to mention, it’s a lot of fun!)
This year, Michael's Run will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2018.
